Well, so far two of the 8 foot wide shelves are up in our garage. I’m going to be building basic flat shelves all around the back and one side of the garage. A total of 10 – 8 foot sections are going up. Right now our garage looks like we seriously need to have a garage sale (hmm….stay tuned, maybe we will next spring). There’s so much junk in there right now we can’t park any cars in the garage. But these shelves should help us to clear out the garage and also clear out a good portion of the basement so we can start to use that for more than just storage.

Alrighty, all of our Facebook galleries/photos are now linked to the Team-Miller blog, so any of you that aren’t on Facebook can now get a look at the photos we’re uploading there. Check for them in the navigation bar on the side of this blog. Later….
Well…well…well, welcome! The freshly refurbished Team-Miller.org is now online. What’s this all about? Nothing really, just simplicity. Here’s the scoop…
Alright, previously our website was being maintained by a content management system (CMS) called Joomla. Joomla is a very in-depth, roboust CMS that offers a lot of features. It’s been around for quite a while, and shares a lot of common code with another one called Mambo (they’re forks of each other).
One of the drawbacks to Joomla is that for a simple blogging style site like the one we were keeping up, it’s kind of overkill. Yeah, it can do blogging, but it’s not really designed for that.
Well, I found it was honestly too complicated to use. Laura didn’t want to use it much, and all the things I wanted to add to it honestly could be done with external sites (like a gallery, which can be done with Picasa or Flickr).
So, for the sake of simplicity, I decided to just scrap the old site. Since I’m already maintaining a few blogs running on Wordpress, and I’m already comfortable with working with it…figured I’d just do that.
I’d like to see if I can find a way to pull all of the posts from the old site into here, but I’m so far unable to figure out an easy way to migrate all that stuff. So, it might just not make it over here. Oh well.
One thing I’d like to keep up doing is keeping the site fresh with fancy themes for different parts of the seasons, or whatever I think looks nice. So, keep watching…you might come back and see a totally different site each time you visit.
